Tannerism

After looking at a rental that came with a pool: Tanner, how do you like to have a pool?
Tanner: You have to drain it! Its too high for me!!

Me: Tanner, your new teacher is so lucky to have you in her class.
Tanner: No she not, i stepted on her foot today.

Tannerism

On the way to see Go-e who lives in South San Francisco, while on the bridge Tanner asked where were we, we said San Francisco, when we got closer to Go-e, he asked if this is San Francisco(our fault since we tell him she lives in SF) i said no, its called South San Francisco, he said "Oh Go-e lives in Fake Francisco!"

I asked him to help me get out of my chair, he did and i asked him will he take care of his ma when she gets old, he said "No, Sawyer will" When he saw the look on my face, he explained " I will be pushing daddy in his wheel chair"(turns out they had a an earlier conversation with his dad about old people and wheel chair).

First day of school: How was school Tanner? " YOU NEED TO PUT MORE FOOD IN MY LUNCH!"

First day of school

I dropped Sawyer off daycare this morning. His first day under the new school and he will be in 3rd grade. I am so proud of him. His score came last week from his Star testing, this is our first time to see one since the private school did not do it. He scored above average on all. Jeff and i agreed not to tell him. He might slack off.
On the way to daycare (not a very long drive) a gave him a short lecture about making a good first impression, looking people in the eye when they speak to you and being polite at all times.
Our neighbor lady Ms. Victoria offered to walk him to the bus since she is taking her son there on his first day, but i said no thank you since i want to make sure all his paperwork is in order, and good thing i did that since there was some time stuff that was not in order, like the daycare care lady Susana is not sure how she would walk him to the school bus if she is the only there in the morning. She said she thinks Sawyer is the only one there that goes to the bus stop in the morning, in the pm care, there would be a few more student from the bus. So i let him know that i can certainly switch my schedule that way Sawyer only goes to the pm one. She said not to worry, they will find a way to work around this. I am worried since i dont want Sawyer to stick out like sore thumb bec he will be if the rest of the kid have to vacate the daycare and walk with him till the bus came. I passed by the bus waiting area, and a bunch of student with their parents are already there. Hmmm, i was planning on dropping Sawyer off, clocking in, working briefly and going back to see him off at the bus station, but i can see that there is no parking nearby with all the parents doing this on the first day so i will do it on another day. i am excited for him to ride on the bus since i know he loves school buses. He had a restless night last night though. i am sure he is worried but trying very hard to be brave. I love my boys.
As for Tanner, his first day of kindergarten was last Thursday. But it was nothing special for him since he is going to the same school/daycare and since he was there full time during summer all the faces are familiar. He still proclaimed that he does not like school though. He gets to play in the big kids area now, not sure how he would feel about that since his favorite thing was riding the bikes and now they are off limites to him.

In The Spirit of Our Campaign for One Fun Summer...

Jeff and I took the boys to the K Street Mall with a plan to walk to Old Town. First we had a snow cone (pictures will be posted later, my computer is broken and my nice brother in law will be working on it). Tanner wanted a chocolate snow cone, i told him it was not available in that flavor, when asked what other flavor, he said " I CANT READ" so the nice lady behind the counter asked him if he wants green, blue or pink, he picked blue which turned out to be bubblegum and after one bite, he decided he did not like it and wanted the shrimp chips i get inside the store instead. Weird, what kid does not like snow cone, my biggest kid (Jeff) ate it instead. One the way to the mall, which we have been to many times, Jeff suddenly couldnt find his bearings and we had to go arund several times until he got to the parking lot. Unbeknownst to us, that side is for office worker so when we got on the elevator, it wouldnt move, wouldnt open and wouldnt go up, immediately Tanner started to panic " I dont want to be stuck here forever, wah!" Big tears which surprised us both and i think Sawyer too and thats why he did not panic as much. We got out after more pressing of buttons, walked around, jeff decided we have to try the elvator again, poor Tanner started crying immedietely got out and finally we got our bearings and found our car and drove to the other side. Quite a few minutes adventure there. Tanner proclaimed while wiping his big tears with his sleeves: "I WILL NEVER RIDE A ELEVATOR EVER AGAIN" Life is good for the little guy because after that proclamation, he reminded us that we promised to take him to the train stattion and candy store. And we did. It was a fun day full of sugar (choco muffin, lemonade, push pops, taffy-which he did not like) and salt (pizza, corn dog).
